I realize it's been several days since my last entry and the major reason has been a lack of access to the internet, however a lot has happened and hopefully I'll be able to remember a sufficient amount to recount an interesting story.

My reaction to Madrid is much the same as it was to any other big city. We didn't have the opportunity to experience much of the night life as we did in Barcelona, but we did go on a day excursion to El Escorial and the Monastery/ Palace of King Philip II, as well as to Caido de los Muertas (I think that's right!), which was a monument built for Franco, and is also his final resting place. From there we went by bus with ISA (our study abroad program) to Toledo, which is BEAUTIFUL, a lot of the architecture from the 14th and 15th centuries still stands, and there is a lot of Moorish history in this region.

I'm running out of time and have to go to the welcome dinner being hosted by ISA, so to be continued tomorrow!
