Our friends and neighbours Laura and Doug are visiting with us in Estepona and after a couple of cloudy and rainy days, the weather cleared and we were able to enjoy some nice, warm sunshiny days while touring the immediate area before heading out to Cordoba which is a 2 1/2 hour drive from Estepona. The area around Cordoba is one of the largest olive growing regions in Spain and unlike Granada, which sits besides the Sierra Nevada mountain range, Cordoba is nestled in a valley surrounded by acres of olive and almond groves. During the Moor occupation of Andalusia, the city was once its capital before falling to the Conquistador’s. The Mezquita (Mosque in Spanish) is an astonishing structure that was started in the 8th century AD soon after the Muslim conquest of the area. ... read more

Ce ne sera pas une première.... vous le savez bien !!! Nous adorons ce coin d'Andalousie... Notre rêve est même d'y habiter un jour... Nous y sommes revenus maintes fois et cette fois-ci nous décidons de nous y installer pour trois mois afin de nous tester entièrement... Nous y passons donc une semaine à l'hôtel pour une prospection d'appartements à louer... Victoire... trouvé mais pas encore signé... Le propriétaire est polonais, ils s'installent en masse dans le coin aujourd'hui... Lundi ou mardi nous recevrons par mail les documents afin de concrétiser cette location. Sommes venus en avion pour cette semaine, étudions la chose quant à venir en voiture (on laissera gentiment Pollux à la maison.. trop de petites rues nous créeraient des soucis si nous l'amenions ici...) ou en avion et continuer à louer une voiture.. ... read more

Quitter un épais brouillard pour trouver un soleil éclatant...Que demander de plus... ? Nous connaissons bien la région pour y être venus durant de nombreuses années chaque deux dernières semaines de février... Un grande envie d'échapper à la pluie, quelques petites gelées seulement, mais aussi un brouillard épais qui n'en finissait pas d'occuper nos journées fera que nous décidons de revenir dans la région, car l'Andalousie n'a jamais fini de s'ouvrir et de se découvrir à nous... Nous optons pour un hôtel que nous connaissons également et dont la chaîne nous satisfait tout à fait... les hôtels H10... Vous nous connaissez bien ! nous ne pouvons rester sur place longtemps... Si bien nous avons pris le H10 avec 1/2 pension, nous avons aussi loué une voiture, une petite Panda qui ne fait qu'augmenter mon amour pour ... read more

We took today to just be. Considering it is day 20, it is pretty impressive that we have not taken a day to do this yet. There have been too many things to see and do in our previous locations and too little time that we were staying to allow such a thing. The day consisted of mini-golf, visiting the book exchange, reading, cooking shrimp curry for dinner, getting some soccer juggling in, walking the beach, swimming, working out (access to a full gym was a pleasant surprise) and playing cards. The highlight of the day for me was collecting rocks on the beach and skipping stones into the water along with having the opportunity to just sit and watch the changing of the sky as the sun set.... read more

First job is to get packed up in Spain and head home for Christmas. Our time in the UK will spent finding and buying a Motorhome. It'll be exciting, we've done a mountain of research so we know what we're after and where to look.
