EN: We spent some nice time with our friends in beautiful Orava and Liptov region. First 3 days near Oravsky Podzamok. The main acitivities were drinking, chatting, cooking goulash, barbecue etc 😊 But we also visited the castle in the village. Check the photos. Movie:
"Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens" has been filmed there (classic from 1922 !!). This castle is also the second most visited castle in Slovakia (after Bojnice castle).
After those 3 days some of us set off for a hiking through mountains to Liptov region. We hiked through beautiful Kvacianska dolina (Kvacianska valley). There we took a bath/shower in one of the waterfalls (and as it was in the evening, with no people around, guess what swimsuit we had on :P ... sorry, no pics here. Just the waterfall )
We spent the night in tents, it was raining ALL the night. Next day we descended to the village Prosiek, on the way we had nice views on Liptovska Mara lake (with High Tatras in the backgroung hidden in clouds), found some accomodation, had some rest, relaxation, and yes, making once again some profit for the local 2 pubs 😊 After that night one of us gave up the idea
to go and hike through the Prosiecka dolina, not I 😊 See the other photos.
The country and nature in Slovakia is beautiful. All around green hills, mountains, valleys, mountains again, meadows with flowers of all colours ... and the best thing is, the most land in Slovakia is still a common land. So no fences or walls made of stones. You are mostly free to walk in any direction you choose once you leave any village. I hope it will stay like this for a long long time. This is freedom for me.
SK: Stravili sme par dni s nasimi znamymi z VS na krasnej Orave a Liptove. Prve 3dni blizko Oravskeho podzamku, chate. Pilo sa, kecalo, varil sa gulas, jedli sme "spizy". Pozreli sme si aj niektori Oravsky hrad. Natacal sa tam film
"Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens" - v roku 1922. Hrad je 2. najnavstevovanejsi hrad na Slovensku (po bojnickom zamku).
Po tych 3 dnoch niektori z nas sa vydali na turu cez hory na Liptov. Presli sme nadhernu Kvaciansku dolinu. Sme sa tam aj niektori okupali vo vodopade (a nakolko to uz bolo vecer, bez turistov, tak hadajte asi ake plavky sme mali :P ... sorac,

View from the castleale ziadne fotky, len samotny vodopad). Noc sme stravili v stanoch, prsalo celu noc. Dalsi den sme zisli do dediny Prosiek, cestou sme mali pekne vyhlady na Liptovsku Maru (a Vysoke Tatry ukryte v pozadi v oblakoch), nasli sme si nejake ubytovanie, oddychovali, a ano, zas a znovu sme dali zarobit miestnych dvom krcmam 😊 Po tej tazkej noci jeden z nas to vzdal, a nesiel s nami pozriet Prosiecku dolinu. Ja som to nebol, pozrire si fotky 😊
Krajina a priroda Slovenska je uzasna. Vsade naokolo zelene kopce, hory, udolia, a znova hory, luky s kvetmi vsetkych farieb ... a najlepsie na tom je, ze vacsina tej krajiny je stale statne, nie sukromne. Ziadne ploty a kamenne mury. Nie ako v Irsku kde sme boli, tam to bolo dost frustrujuce ked bol clovek okliesteny (aby som nebol netaktny voci znamym irom, tuto poslednu vetu som v anglickej verzii nepisal 😊 ). Raz ako vyjdete z nejakej dediny, vacsinou ste slobodni sa vydat smerom akym chcete. Dufam ze to tak zostane este dlhy dlhy cas. Toto je pre mna sloboda.
