A group of us decided to go rafting on the more rapid course today, we set out around 11:00am which we should have left earlier because the best decided to come half an hour after it was suppose to making it so that we missed our connection at the train station in Poprad. We weighted out our options and found a bus that we could catch in an hour. As soon as we were on the bus Lauren (Texas) passed right out. We woke just in time to get off the bus; we had to catch two cabs since there were 8 of us.
Once there the instructor handed us our wet suits ha-ha *fits like a glove* wow very tight all over, we were then giving helmets and wet booties to add to our attire. We had two rafts 4 people and an instructor in each one. We set out and it was nice and rough, the instructor we had in our raft was always yelling at us as which way to paddle and such but it was hard to hear him so he yelled at us more. We thought is was going to be a long trip going down
a river but just when we thought we were going to keep following the river, he made us turn into a tiny creek then told us to get out. What? Did we do something wrong? Nope it was a man made rafting run, we went down it, got out or the rafts a car came and got the rafts and we walked back to the beginning, we did this about 8 times. I was thinking how is each time going to be different, but out instructor made it different by moving the raft into different rapids. The second time around he made us turn the raft around and row into a rapid making the raft flip over. Before we started he told us if we ever fell out that we should lay on our backs, feet up and hold the paddle tight and we will be fine, fine my ass the rapid would rush underneath bring your feet the other way and then you go under. First when we flipped I went right under the raft which was not where I wanted to be, I must have looked panic because the instructor grabbed me and dragged me to shore. Then
we did it all over again will his throwing us out and yelling at us. It was a lot of fun I must say even when you get thrown into the river.
When it was all over we got out of out wet suits that were suppose to keep us dry but for some reason we were still soaked underneath. Lauren saw this tower that you can get strapped in on and jump into a big swing and she was determined to do it. I think 3 other guys decided to give it a shot as well. It was pretty fun to watch especially when the guy on the ground went to stop Lauren from swinging by grabbing her leg but missed and she ended up kicking him in the head really hard.
It was getting late and there were no cabs around so we had to try and remember how we got there and make our way back to the train station on foot. Well with 8 people we put our heads together and some how made it back. Our train was in an hour and everything around us was closed so we had to get out
eats from a gas station.
The whole journey back was very long, a train ride, then wait for the bus from Poprad to Zdair, then be on the bus for 45 mins. While waiting for the bus we did find some Icelandic guys who were coming to the hostel which was good we found then because they would never have found the hostel in the dark.
When we finally rolled in at 10:00 pm some people were up for a poker game which I could not turn down, but it was not my night of lucky and went out really early.

Hey Lorriann when I wore one of those suits I thought it kept you dry but found out a wet suit is wet but holds body heat in and gives you more bouyancy. That must have been a blast after the first dumping and you got over the panic
