Day 21 (still in St Petersburg)

After yesterdays relaxing afternoon, myself and Nance decided to go out and try and catch some footy in a pub. Nance earlier spotted a different english bar we could go to. Adelle stayed behind as i think she was a bit under the weather. She's been sneezing a lot recently. We got to the bar in time for the start of the Liverpool v Stoke game but it was 5 quid a pint!! Ridiculous. So before long we abandoned the footy which i think Nance was happy about and went to a couple of other bars. Before long we were onto the vodkas as its so cheap over here. At one point i was sick in the bar toilet but we stayed out and even dared to try Russian pancakes filled with meat which we'd heard good things about. It was surprisingly very nice. I don't remember getting home but crashed out as soon as i got back and slept through apart from getting up to be sick from time to time.

Day 21 - Sunday 21st September. Woken up by the girls to go to breakfast at 9.15. Out tour starts at 10am so not much time. Am immediately sick before heading down to join the others. Couldn't eat much so went back to bed until Marie our tour guide called me. I was really dreading on going on the tour as i was so hungover and couldn't contemplate walking around the city for 3 hours. I thought they'd be other people on this tour but was surprised to find it just the 3 of us. And our tour guide was only 21. She was basically a student in St Petersburg. But this made it better as it was somone we could chat to as we went around. We discovered quite quickly that she has a strong dislike for Ukranians and thinks that all buildings in London should be painted brighter colours to liven things up a bit. But she was very nice and took an interest in our lives and culture and i learnt loads about the history of the city and how all the major sites came to be. In the end it lasted just over 3 and a half hours but seemed to fly by. And once i grabbed a KFC afterwards i felt fine. Spent the rest of the day just recovering in my room on my own before myself and Adelle headed out to try and catch the Chelsea - Man Utd game. We did but got the timing wrong so only caught the last 20mins. And then for some unknown reason with about 5mins to go the barman inexplicably changed channels and put bodybuilding on. So we quickly left and found a different pub where we got fish and chips. Nothing like at home though. Tomorrow we need to check out at midday but our train to Moscow is not until 10pm so perhaps i'll go and revisit some of the sites that Marie pointed out today.
