This morning the skies were clear and the air was fresh. What a great day to sleep in! What does a rest day on the Camino look like? Not necessarily in this order, but on the list:

1. Stretching tight muscles
2. Getting a strong coffee and local custard pastry
3. Emptying backpacks of stinky clothes
4. Washing said clothes in tiny clothes washer
5. Hanging said clothes on inside driving rack (in a wonderful breeze from the front to back windows)
6. Wandering through Valença’s charming narrow alleys
7. Making a reservation for dinner at Fatum, for typical Portuguese cuisine and Fado music

8. Reclining on the sofa and streaming CNN’s coverage of the House hearings on impeachment.

So, OK, the last is not exactly relaxation-inducing. But Katherine and I are both political junkies, so couldn’t ignore this.

All in all, a wonderful, relaxing day in a beautiful place and excellent R&R before striking off into Spain tomorrow.

Data: 4.5 miles, no floors (?)
