Got up and packed, ate breakfast and checked out. This morning I was meeting Andy (a friend from uni) and his friend Paul at the train station at 10. He is known for not being on time, so I was very surprised when I arrived at the train station and they were already there! They flew into Faro airport this morning and we were going to relax in Lagos for a few days.
We caught an old, slow train to Lagos. Very comfortable sitting on vinyl seats in temperatures in the mid 30's!
An hour or so later we arrived in Lagos. After dumping our bags at the hotel, we went in search of lunch. Most of the restaurants served seafood. I was looking forward to eating fresh seafood. After lunch we headed to the large, sandy beach, but the beach is on the other side of the river. Instead of walking down to the bridge, we choose the lazy option and got a boat to the other side of the river. It saved us 10 minutes. It was so nice walking on sand again! We walked along the beach looking for a space to lay down. To cool

Sandy beaches and lots of umbrellas. my feet down, I walked in the water- it was absolutely freezing. The water was icy cold and then we realised that its the Atlantic Ocean. It explained why there weren't many people in the water, even though it was such a hot day.
After some sun baking, we needed to get out of the sun. To cool down we visit some of the beach bar and enjoyed some cocktails. This is the life, I thought as I sat back sipping my drinks.
