Hey Everyone,

Cheap flights found on skyscanner had us going to portugal and back in 4 days. Found out the day before we left that big nic was also in Portugal at the same time. No surprise he was having the time of his life, having seen only the inisde of his hostel and the bars and clubs of Lagos at night we knew we were up to a big few days.
Flew into Faro airport late on monday night, 11.30 pm, thuoght we had organised a car but they didn't get back to us so had to rush around at the airport before all the car places closed at midnight to find a car. Sixt was the only place that had a car for us. Fill in all the paperwork and signed our life away on the contract that we didn't even read and the found out we were driving a BRAND NEW car which had only donw 5km!!. SHIT!!!!.
I had to drive because it was manual, stressful and exciting times to start with. As we were leaving ethe airport, only cut off one car and ran one red light, good start. Finally got to Lagos about 12.30pm and thought finding our hostel woudl be easy. Apparently not, drove around in narrow streets with very very very steep hills in a manual with drunks all over the road for 1.5 hours. HELL. finally found our hostel and straight to bed. Met up with big nic the following morning, once he got up at 3pm and headed to the beach for a beach party. It was the rising cock hostels 6 year anniversary so it was free beers all day. We made the most of it.
Day 2 we decided to head to Lisbon, very hung over and on the wrong side of the road was not a good mix but we made it to lisbon and after a few hiccups trying t find stuff with no map we had a great day. Went to the aquarium which was amazing.
Day 3 got big nic and 2 other chicks together and headed to Sagres for a morning trip, massive castle on the edge of a cliff, very impressive and filled the morning in nicely. Back for beers on the beach and dinner, found a great place with main meals for 5 euro then out on the town again with

big nic and a few from the hostel. Brendan found some german and talked his ear off in broken german and english for awhile. We of course drank sangria which is a famous drink in Portugal. very tasty. Good Times.
The town of Lagos itself was gorgeous, the streets were tiny with resturants tuck away in little corners and gorgeous clothes shops. A great jetty filled with yachts that dad would of spent hours looking at. A little shattered we didn't have more time there to relax on the beach but still a great trip and we got to see alot in a short time with teh car.
Drop the car off friday morning and to our shock there we no scatches or dints on it. Quite amazing really considering the amount of times i nearly side swiped cars on my right. I kept drifting to the right, was not used to having cars coming staright for me on the left. Brendan's main words to me while drive were "your getting kinda close on this side again". I felt for him, it would opf been so stressful in the passenger seat. We still cannot believe we handed that car back
