Despite delays in Detroit that caused some excitement in Chicago as we ran through the airport in an effort to catch our flight to London, the remaining legs of our travels were fine. We departed Chicago at 10:50 PM (Friday, 29 June) and arrived in London at 11:50 AM (Saturday, 30 June). After a quick lunch, we departed London at 1:55 PM and arrived in Warsaw at 5:00 PM. From the airport, we took the local bus to our hostel (Hostel Helvetta) in downtown Warsaw.

After check-in, we went to dinner at a local restaurant - the food was excellent. Sara had a boiled potato stuffed with beef, and I had a beef/pork combination that was wrapped in cabbage. Although exhausted, we decided to spend about an hour walking through downtown Warsaw. We were most excited when we stumbled upon the UEFA EURO 2012 FanZone – this is where we will be watching the final game between Spain and Italy on Sunday, 1 July. They are expecting anywhere between 100,000-200,000 people at this site for the game! After touring the FanZone it was time to get some much needed rest.
