A Garden Roof.
Looking down on Voss with a cabin roof full of fox cloves.
A couple of years ago we stayed in Voss for a few days and this year we were lucky enough to return there. Voss is about one and half hours inland from Bergen and is one of the main extreme sports areas in Norway. Hege's company has a cabin there and we were able to use this for a few days. It is a spectacular place to stay, way up above the valley below, so the views are great, and to sit on the balcony and just watch a couple of lakes that are in view and the surrounding hills giving way to mountains is great. Beside being a winter and summer destination for sport and recreation there is a lot of farmed land with scattered farm houses and barns. The vivid green of meadows and the yellow of cut hay creating a patchwork that I find very very restful. I do really like this place as it has a relaxed feel but also provides heaps of challenges if you wish. Nice town centre and lots of walking tracks, some hard and some a nice stroll. I could spend a couple of weeks here and enjoy it. One day we spent
Walking on a track along a rocky ridge.
the morning at a climbing destination where Chris, Hege and the girls climbed rope ladders up trees, crossed rope and plank walkways and zoomed back to ground on flying foxes. Great fun and great for building confidence in kids. I can't believe that our time in Norway is over as it has just flown by. Before we left we caught up with Thomas, Annelene, Trude and Jorgen and their children when they came for a B'Que But now we spend time in Spainat Santa Pola just outside Alicante, still with Chris, Hege and the kids. Plenty of sunshine we hope. Pip/Rod
