This was a great display. Well worth the visit.
Yes! We have had snow. Not much at first but enough to make the kids very excited. This was on Christmas Eve day which is the day that Santa left heaps of presents for the kids. So we spent time outside on sledge's and throwing snow while Chris built a fire so we could roast marsh mellows.Cold but wonderful. Opening of presents and a visit from Santa continued a busy day and then up to Runa and Lillian's for an evening meal. Fantastic, and once again we had a magic time at their place. Also catching up with Thomas and his family. All the girls had a fantastic day, which at times just seemed so magical to me. So much fun with the snow arriving just at the right time. We have had a wonderful Christmas period here with the 3 days of celebration. Also a trip up the cable car to the top with snow making it's appearance once again just in time to set the scene.

After a 3 hour train ride{ through fabulous winter scenery } we arrived in Geilo up in the mountains. This is a large ski resort with a number of fields to choose

from. Di and I settled into our Hotel with Runa and Lillian while Chris, Hege, Amy and Jeremy, with their kids, settled into a large cabin which was part of the hotel. Once again we have been blessed with the weather, so we have enjoyed being on the slopes, while Chris and Hege helped Holly and Ella learn the basics on how to ski while also watching Stella doing her own thing down the learner slope and Lilly, we watched from afar as she whizzed down the slopes across the way. This was a great "new thing" for the NZ kids and they just loved being in the snow making snowmen, sledging, skiing and just experiancing the wonderful world of a ski field. I loved the scenery and it is certainly a beautiful area to spend some time. Pip/Rod

A cold afternoon but still lovely strolling about. We are finding it so different from when we are usually here as there are no leaves on the trees.
