Before we went for our Canoe Trip 🛶 we wanted to spend a day in Oslo, Norway. We started our trip early in the morning and drove from Holland to Denmark. We stayed there for one night in Hotel Severin, Middelfart and drove the next day to Oslo, Norway 🇳🇴 We had a wonderful trip over the bridges in Denmark to get to Sweden. Then we drove all the way up to get to Norway. We had sun and a little bit of rain, cloudy skies and bright blue skies ⛅ In Norway we stayed at the Youth Hostel Haraldsheim. Nothing planned for today so a late breakfast. Chris decided on having a lazy day so I went out solo after breakfast. Wandered up the main shopping street opposite our room. Ended up at the Royal Palace. An impressive building at the top of a hill. They have soldiers guarding the entrances. Their hats have what looks like a black straw plume on one side of their hats. They stand there and turn their heads to either side with this plume dancing in the wind. Would be very annoying and a distraction if anything really active were to happen. Nukuin kohtalaisesti: klo 1.30-2.45 ja klo 5 - 8. Menin aamiaisella klo 9. Jukka tuli sinne kun lähdin pois. Lähdettiin katsomaan laivoja Bygdöyhin. Jukka käveli ja meni loput taksilla, minä pyöräilin sinne, matkaa kertyi 6,3 km. Kävin katsomassa vain Kon-Tikin museon, Jukka muutkin. Paluumatkalla kastuin viimeisen kilometrin aikana. Vaatteet piti laittaa kuivumaan, koska seuraavana päivänä oli edessä lentomatka. Pidettiin sadetta hotellissa. Jukka otti päiväunet. Lähdin käymään rautatieasemalla kun sade oli lakannut. Katsoin ruokapaikkoja ja reittiä. Palasin polkupyörällä. Mentiin syömään intialaiseen. Otin lammasta. Otin polkupyörän ja kävin katsomassa vuoden 2018 majapaikan tienoota. Katkonainen yöuni. Hotellissa oli runsas aamiainen, jossa oli kyllä paljon väkeä. Aurinkoinen päivä. Jukka meni taidemuseoon; minä kiertelin sen aikaa Lillehammerin keskustassa. Ajettiin katsomaan kirkkoa. Siellä oli esittelijänä eläkkeelle jäänyt mies, joka oli asunut Chilessä ja Uudessa-Seelannissa. Ajettiin katsomaan ulkoilmamuseota, mutta ei jääty sinne, kun ei ollut yhtään vapaata parkkipaikkaa. Ajettiin Hammariin kahville, keskustaan kahvilaan Kajs & Mattis Café. Nuoret miestarjoilijat kantoivat juomat ja leivokset pöytään. Jatkettiin moottoritietä, paitsi että pienehkö pätkä pikkuteitä, jotta vältettiin tietulleja. Autoja tuli paljon vastaan. Osloon oli ennustettu viikonlopuksi sateista ja Keski-Norjaan aurinkoista. Jukka halusi tankata. Puolimatkassa olisi ollut halvempaa polttoainetta kuin Oslon lähellä. This is our last day in Oslo, and the last day of our tour. Fortunately, our final city tour begins at 9:00AM so it gave us time to sleep in, and we were both awake before the alarm went off at 7:30. After heading down to a delicious breakfast, we were ready at the bus at 9:00 to meet our local guide Christina who was great at letting us know all about her native city, Oslo. Oslo is the largest city in Norway at about 700,000 people with a total of 1.1 million people in the greater Oslo area.
