The journey has finally begun, after a sleepless night. The day started bad, with a message on the airport train information screen politely telling me that my flight to Denmark was cancelled and I spent the remaining 18 minutes imagining my entire travel schedule going down the drain. But checkin was without any problems and after inquiring at the information desk, they told me that I was moved to another plane with a later departure time. This means I have less waiting time in Copenhagen, which doesnt really bother me and also I got the added bonus of spending some time looking confused in the tax free shop and finally stumbeling across this internet terminal *grin* I wont have any time for further updates until I reach Singapore (or all the way in Indonesia) but at ... read more

Today is the last day before the real journey begins. My nerves have calmed down, they had a last minute system check a few days ago, every travellers worst dreams coming true when the day before departure you become sick and too weak to do anything. Well, no real updates yet as my journey has far from begun, I just decided I would make an initial log-message and spread the URL to everyone I know :D I will try to update this often, or at least as often as I can get Internet access so expect more text and hopefully some pictures as well :) Update: I played a little around with the google maps, so here is my complete travel route for tomorrows journey. Enjoy :)... read more

We are leaving tomorrow morning at 10 am to begin our 8-month concert tour of Eastern Europe. Our first concert is in Latvia on Sunday evening. We will leave Norway, go to Sweden (which takes about 10 hours) then catch a ferry to Latvia (which takes also about 10 hours). I am excited but at the same time a little apprehensive at the thought of spending the next eight months constantly with eight other people. Over the last four months, I’ve started to let go of the need for large amounts of alone time but I have a feeling I will need to let go of that even more. ... read more

Expert from Captivating by John and Stasi Eldredge: ‘“What is written on your heart?” As I said earlier, the invitations of Jesus come to us in many ways. Sometimes they come through a circumstance, an opportunity that opens before us. Sometimes they come through other people who see something in us that we may not yet see, and they invite us to step forth in some way. But God’s invitations ultimately are matters of the heart. They come through our passions, those desires set deep within us. What is it you yearn to see happen - how deep do you long for the world to be a better place? What makes you so angry you nearly see red? What brings tears to your eyes? You will find that as God restores your heart and sets you ... read more

Lately I feel like I’ve been just crying out to God more often than usual. It is not that I am sad or afraid or anything, I just want more of Him. I am not content with my walk or with how little I really know God. I am not seeking an answer to anything in particular but as I was telling Him, I just want to know Him more. Not through second hand knowledge of another but from Him, I want to hear Him. Last Sunday I went to a different church with some of the girls from my team and a few minutes into the praise and worship, I was praying to myself, because the songs were in Norwegian, when I started thinking about my walk with God. I left the group and walked ... read more

Many things have happened since my last entry. I went home to Texas for a week, then I spent four days in Germany for our New Years Festival and I am now back in Oslo for some final preparation. Rather than making a separate entry for each time period I will summarize them all in this entry and then keep up with it better from here on out (or at least try, it may not be possible to update it on a regular basis once I am in Eastern Europe). Our finals days before leaving for Christmas break: To end off our Bible memorization class we each had to come up with some creative way to share our favorite verse with the rest of the class. The ways people presented their verse ranged from songs, games, ... read more

Th WHAM Music video last Christmas is a microcosm of 1980's society. A group of attractive, gelled up twenty somethings spend Christmas in a cabin in the mountains. They occupy their time wearing tacky sweaters, drinking cocktails and light beer, and holding each other by the fire. Not once in the video did a child enter the picture. To 1980's individualists, kids were the last thing on their minds at Christmas... My Christmas was spent in a terraced house in England with a group of moderately attractive twenty somethings. We occupied our time wearing tacky santa hats, drinking cocktails and light beer, and eating roast beef. To a group of teachers who spend every waking hour working with children, kids were the last thing on our minds at Christmas. This country is turning me into WHAM; ... read more

Many things have been happening in these last few weeks before we have Christmas break. Lots of dancing, lots of booking (pray for this one please - we don't have a fully booked concert schedule yet), and lots of praying. This past Sunday we had a performance of 5 of the 12 songs from the concert concept we will be doing starting in January. I was only in one of the dances on Sunday because it was a combination of all three concert teams. The dance I had to do is one which requires me to do a backbend, something I had not even attempted to do before I arrived here. Even though the countings flew out of my head when I looked out and saw an audience staring back at me, thankfully I was still ... read more
