BANG! I woke to Anna and Andreas busting into my room "hello! good morning, we just came to wake you" I roll over and let them know I will be down 😊 yay today is the day I meet two more nieces and one nephew that I have only skyped with! I head down to the cottage but only Anna and Andreas are awake of the children. Anna made breakfast for everyone...... typical Norwegian breakfast laid out of cheeses, meats and breads to make open faced sandwiches. Soon Alexander came down and gave me a hug. He has a beautiful smile. Both very lovely kids. And so kind! We all gathered for breakfast (except Nancy) and chatted while eating breakfast. What were the plans for the day, who had to do what and so on. After breakfast, Alexander cleaned up with me then we all retreated to our own spaces for 20 minutes or so. i used the out house close to my cabin. Generally I cringe at the thought of an out house but this is actually quite lovely. Spacious, not smelly and very airy. As one can see in the photos, it is a double seater plus a toddlers
toilet. See pictures.
Andy and Alexander did some work on the boat trailer while Gry and I had a foot bath outside on the swing. Yes it was a relaxing day 😊 Andreas decided to have a bath in the tub after. We called my mom and sister to say hello and enjoyed the afternoon.
Anna who is 14 years old, doesn't stop moving. She is Just a busy girl running here anD there every minute of the day. She picked blueberries this afternoon which would later be made into a pie by Nancy and herself. The tool which she used looked to be about 150 years old but incredibly useful!
During this time, Nancy finally woke from her beauty sleep, around 3:45 and sat out for a little with us. I gave her the book I brought for her and we haven't seen her since. Her love of reading is likely the reason her English is so good!
Later we changed and headed to Joan's for dinner. Joan had the table set, bottle of white wine opened and made a delicious beef bourguignon with salad and potatoes. We enjoyed the blueberry pie that the girls
had put in her oven earlier then sat in the living room to visit for a short time. I offered to wash up the dishes but she said she would tend to them later.
Later, down at the cottage, I gave Andreas this whirlybird thing I bought in Roma for him. He enjoyed it. Alexander took out his remote helicopter. Andy being Andy, he just had to try it. He ended up taking it so high in the air, it caught some draft and flew up up up, too far for the rang of the remote. It was funny to watch Andy and the kids run after it. Luckily Anna managed to follow it and get it out of the woods.
Andy and the kids then had a game of field hockey or as they call it, bandy down by the barn. Gry and I were still too pooped to play. Before bed, Andy played his French horn, other kids surfed the internet, Andreas played with his helicopter and Anna played with the sling shot as the evening came to a close. We had an early evening going to our cottages before 10:30pm!
