This was my last week of school and on Thursday, Susanna invited me to go to a lunch at the faculty club with the head of the Communications dept and also my friend Bro, who wants to go to Seattle next year.
I thought the faculty club was just a cafeteria for faculty members but it was a complete restaurant with waiters and table linens! Quite cool and I ordered a goat cheese and honey salad that was great, but still not as good as my mom's salads. =)
We talked about Seattle, UT, and the differences, etc etc. After lunch, I rushed to my last mulitcultural class to give a presentation about our topic. Andra and I went first and I was a bit nervous since I hadn't given a presentation in a while. But we did well and thankfully, it was in English. The other presentations were in Dutch and that was a bummer since the topics looked interesting - from what I could figure out just by looking at their powerpoint slides. ADDED INFO:
How could I forget my horrible dinner I had with Chiel!? So, since I've been here, you always hear about

At least they cleaned the insides...didn't help much though.
the Dutch and their herring fish that they love to eat. I was curious and heard mixed opinions about how good it was. My uncle lovvvvves it, but I heard from others that its so disgusting. I asked Chiel if he liked herring and he said he never tried it!? 18 years in the Netherlands and he never tried it, so I said that we should get it together. We rode our bikes to the corner fish market on wheels and each got a herring. The minute we bought it, I realized that it was a bad idea since it looked disgusting!
Well, too late now!! I was the brave one and went first. The herring was slippery and I had to dig my nails into the tail end to get a good grip. Then I dipped it in a pile of finely chopped onions so that some pieces stuck to the outside. I tipped my head back and slowly chomped down on the herring, feeling my teeth sink into soft, slimey muscle. EWWWwww... I wasn't liking it. It was so slimey and smelled like fish..duh, it was RAW...bleh! I wouldn't eat the rest of it alone, so I tried

to cover the taste and slimey texture by putting the herring between two slices of bread and adding some garlic sauce, soft cheese, and more onions. Nope, didn't do the trick and it tasted even nastier. Chiel was braver and actually ate the whole thing, but I left 3/4 of it on my plate as I felt my stomach start to bubble and growl. Needless to say, I'm glad I tried it and I know not to try it again! Done and done.
Later that evening, I met up with Nienke for the last time. She's the girl that came for an exchange in Seattle. We chatted over coffee (of course) and said our goodbyes. Right from there, I met up with all my friends to get ice cream at the same place that I went with Susanna and Anouk. It's not common for me to have ice cream that often, but I allowed myself since the ice cream has won awards for the best ice cream shop in the country. I had frozen yogurt with fresh rasberries. The group of us took up the back of the place: me, Laia, Clara, Kristin, Bro, Andra, Janne, Jasper,

Chiel, and Arjan.
I said goodbye to Laia, Clara, Kristin, and Bro since I probably wouldn't see them again. Laia was so sweet and gave me a little blue and white ceramic piece of two Dutch children leaning in for a kiss and she got all teary-eyed. The rest of my housemates and I rode home.
Later that night, I rode again to Wiebke's house and hung out there for a while before going out dancing in the city for probably the last time. We met Kristin there and some others that I knew. It wasn't the best dancing night because of the music, but we all enjoyed the company and the laughs. I guess it was good that the night was not so amazing because I left early and was able to get home at a decent time before collapsing in bed. I was going to Cologne, Germany the next day with Wiebke!!
