When we landed we thought we had enough time to hang out, drink a beer and grab something to eat. We ended up only having about a half hour.
We walked up to one of the restaurants and the lady asked how many people? I said, 'Starling party of 8' and then I giggled. Timmy looked at me and said, 'oh, I get it, #starlingpartyof8.' He, he
We boarded the plane and sat in our seats. We are ready for the second leg. As we pulled off Kirby said, 'Bye land, see ya in about 6 hours.'
At the end of the safety speech they stated that they have coke products, beer, wine and Starbucks. They then started bringing the carts around.
Side note: on our cruise back in March the boys were introduced to Mocha Frappachino. They have been never been the same ever since.
The steward gets to Kirby and he says, 'I would like a mocha Frappachino?'. I wish I could have taken a picture of this young girls face. Her face kind of dropped and she looked at him and politely asked 'coffee?'. Kirby said, 'oh, uh, no.' You could then see her kind of
turn her head and kind of chuckle so he couldn't see. I about died laughing!
I have never flown on an international flight so this is all very new to me (us). As we were waiting they came around and gave us an eye mask and headphones. Last time I was offered head phones on a plane I actually had to buy them for $1 or something.
They then came by with a warm towel. Ok, I am not a very cultured person. I really did not know what they were offering me. This towelette thingy was really hot and it felt awesome however it had a little scent to it so I wasn't sure if this was for my face or if it was a warm towelette to wipe my hands. I looked around and most people were wiping their hands. Mom and I agreed that they were for your hands and maybe your face if you want to (like Jeff).
They then immediately brought us a drink, pretzels and peanuts. I ordered a beer and the stewardess looked at me like I had lost my mind. It's not like I'm ordering a beer at 8am. Mom
noticed it and then same thing happened to Kelsey. It's was weird.
Dinner then comes along. Mom and I really liked our stuffed chicken dinner. Megan and Kelsey weren't big fans of the pasta dinner but Kirby liked it. Kirby doesn't find much he doesn't like when it comes to pasta.
After dinner we all just read, relaxed or watched tv. It is amazing what is available on the in flight tv's. They have some movies I haven't seen yet and they have a couple episodes of some of the latest sitcoms. Of course there are plenty of kids shows. The tv's are touch screen so they also allow you to play games.
Six hours and 30 mins is a long time for a flight but we all got through it.
Second leg done. Next stop Edinburgh!
