Two things Holland is famous for
Hello from Amsterdam!

not a whole lot of time and this internet is bein a bit dodgy but i still wanted to make a quick update!

left germany yesterday and arrived in amsterdam. went to a place where they made cheese and clogs (how dutch!) where i bought some yummy pepper cheese. then we went for a bike ride out in the dutch country side on the coolest granny bikes ever! so pretty! came back to our hotel, which is really really nice(!), and got ready for our "dutch cultural show". Lets just say i will never look at a cigar or a banana the same way again! hahaha it was actually pretty cheesy but all part of the amsterdam experience. we had some time before we had to meet up with everyone so we went to the infamous grasshopper for a ummm ahem.... drink. caught the coach back to our hotel and then walked to an area close by with lots of bars and such. went to yet another infamous coffeeshop... the bulldog where we had some drinks and some muffins. the drinks were ALOT better here and the muffins were pretty yum too! went up to the

Me and Becs on our very excellent granny bikes! Oh and Bike a Dijk was the company we rented the bikes from... yep not even kidding
dance club upstairs in the bulldog which was actually pretty crappy. reminded me alot of cowboys at home (boo) but being that it was sunday night it was one of the only bars open so we just chilled there until they closed around 1. then we found a jazz club that was still open so we went there, but it was so busy we just hit up some burger king and headed back to the hostel.

this morning we got to sleep in to our hearts content! wooohooo!! then we went to the post office to mail some stuff home. im so choked as i was expecting to get around all these airlines restrictions by mailing my alcohol home but apparently if canada customs finds alcohol in your parcel they will confinscate the whole package. so i had to unpack the whole box and repack it. not sure what im gonna do as i have absinthe, schnapps and wine. so not fair ... the aussies are still allowed to mail theres. boo.

we then made our way to anne franks house (in the pouring rain) and stood in line. we were told it was going to be an

Sir, would we be able to get a smaller size? Ya i think this one is a little bit too big!
hour but we only really had to wait for about 20 mins (score). really cool place. then we meandered around and went shoppping!!! first lost becs along the way, then mindy and shaun and then i eventually lost krystal too so i was all on my own. gave my map to bubba cause he was going on his own and i thought i would be with everyone so i was so lost! once i got sick of shopping i found my way thru the shopping district (which had FOUR h&m's by the way(!)) and stood at the end. i figured eventually someone would have to pop out. found krystal and mindy around 4 so we caught a cab back. cabbie got incrediby lost but still made us pay the full fare. should have been about 10€ but it ended up being like 18€. oh well.

now i gotta dash up stairs and get ready for our final dinner (at a floating chinese restaurant) and canal cruise. i cant believe its the last night!!

back to london tomorrow :P

must go

miss you all

luv ambie
