Yesterday we took a long bike ride around the city. We found a festival, a parade, a lake a couple of parks, and the library. The library is amazing. Seven stories high, banks of computers on each floor for customers to use, and a cafeteria on the seventh floor with excellent food and a great view of the city.

Today topped it all. Coby took us for a tour of the city and harbor by boat. She has a boat that is about 27 feet long. She putts around the canals so easily. One bridge was so low we had to duck going under it. She took us past the cruise ships and through the locks. What a great time and with an excellent guide.

One of the things we hope to do while in Amsterdam is attend the ZZ Top concert. We had decided it would be best to purchase tickets once we got here rather than plan ahead (heaven forbid) and get the tickets before we left home. That might have been a mistake.

Once we were here and settled in Jerry got out his Kindle Fire, got online, found the sight for purchasing tickets, and then got stuck. The sight was written in Dutch with no facility for translation. Ok, that shouldn't be too hard to overcome. We will ask Coby to help us. When she got to the house we got back online, got to the ticket sight, she read it to us, and we found that we needed a printer to print the tickets. Coby doesn't have a printer. So she called the music hall to see if we could go there and buy tickets --No they don't sell tickets there. Back on the phone again, Coby called to see if they would mail us tickets. Yes they would but we are too late, not enough time for the mail to get to us. So how about a will-call. No, will-call not an option. Looks like we are out of luck.

One last try --we really wanted to go to the concert. We went to the library. We found the most helpful librarian, Monic. She would not give up. And after going through the websight a couple of times we finally were able to hit the "print" button. TICKETS!! We are going to get to that concert after all!
