After well over 30 ferry trips and a cruise you would think /expect/hope that we were pretty ok with boats and how they work. Apparently not. First school boy error was not counting floors and having to walk up 16 flights of stairs, in masks, carrying a very heavy suitcase (technically error 1 was not packing a capsule teeny lightweight overnight bag for the ferry but hey ho) by the time we got to the top, all three of us were ever so slightly tired. As per usual our room was the furthest from the car but there was a free mini bar and water in a can! Beste vrienden, familie, kennissen en andere geïnteresseerden en ongeïnteresseerden, Zoals jullie misschien weten vertrek ik komende donderdag naar Manila, de hoofdstad van de Filipijnen! Ik ga daar 6 weken lang vrijwilligerswerk doen. Kansarme kinderen lesgeven in Engels en wiskunde en bekend maken met Nederland en onze cultuur, dat is het plan. Ik ga alleen, maar zal daar niet alleen zijn want er schijnen 45 andere studenten van over de hele wereld even gek te zijn als ik. Ik ga als uitwisselingsstudent van AIESEC, een internationale studentenorganisatie. Vooralsnog lijkt het prima geregeld; Ik zal daar gaan wonen in een huis met 13 lotgenoten. Aangezien jullie allemaal heel bekommerd zijn om mij en je anders zorgen gaan maken enzo, heb ik deze blog aangemaakt. Tonight it is finally time to travel to Schiphol Amsterdam and tomorrow morning I'll fly, together with a friend of mine, Bram, to Panama City. From there we will travel to Almirante, Bocas and then to Costa Rica (San Jose, Tamarindo, La Fortuna and more!).
