We are in Amsterdam for a couple of nights. This is a really lovely city with very different architecture. The canals are beautiful and most of the streets beside the canals are lined with trees. Cycling is very popular here, bikes everywhere. We don't have to be careful of the cars, it's the people on bikes we have to watch. We have seen some parents with 2 kids in a cart at the front and a baby in a seat on the handle bars!
The hotel we are staying in is like an old house. Our room is on the second floor with some very winding steep stairs. Would not want to have too many red wines!!!!!
We are going on a canal cruise today for 1.5 hours. We are a bit sick of walking so decided on a cruise instead. We are going to have a look at the famous red light district tonight. Apparently it doesn't really get going until after 11pm, a late night for us.
Then off to Dublin tomorrow, ready for the next stage in our trip. Graeme driving and me navigating.....great!
