Kotor: Early this morning we entered into the Bay of Kotor and proceded to our anchorage area. The Bay of Kotor known simply as Boka, is a winding bay of the Adriatic Sea in southwestern Montenengro. The bay is about 28 Km long from the open sea to the harbour of the city of Kotor. It is surrounded by mountains of Orjen on the West, and Lovcen on the East. The narrowest section, Verige Strait, is only 300 Metres long. Once we weigh anchor we head to our next port Venice. We don’t have any organized tour for today and are just doing our own thing with Judy and Greg.

Today we decide to arrange our own tour and hired a local taxi driver to show us the sights. The cost was 15 Euro each for two hours. This was considerably cheaper than what Princess charges. The same tour through them was over $100.00 each and in a coach, which could not have pulled over on the side of the mountains where the cab pulled up so we could get some fantastic photos. Kotor reminded me of Prague in a certain kind of way particularly in the city centre, where

there were all kinds of different nooks and crannies to explore. Our driver also took us to the town of Budva which is an historic Montengrin town and is over 2500 years old, making it one of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic coast. It boasts narrow streets, medieval ramparts and 15th century towers. Montenegro to use an age old cliché is to die for, it is one of the most picturest places we have ever been to and I for one would come back here tomorrow. It is a place to visit that everyone should put on their bucket list. As we were leaving we saw some bunker entrances carved into the mountains and this is one of the maintenance places where the Germans built a base for their submarines during WWII.
