Mary-ism #14: "Aahhhh .... my jaw is so sore!" Exactly how did her jaw get that sore? Perhaps from yesterday where she was "always putting something in her mouth". Geo: 55.6985, 21.1473
The headache continues ... not good ... For breakfast, we ate the leftover cheese and crisps, and threw in some juice and yogurt for good measure. Off to Klaipeda - it was a rough ride on the mini-bus, and it felt like my brain was bouncing off of the inside of my skull. Not pleasant, as it felt like it was going to explode!
It was pretty rainy in Klaipeda - and I made the mistake of getting off the bus too early. The driver also almost left with our luggage - I had to chase after it for a step or two and bang on the side of the bus.
We were actually lucky - getting off one stop too early actually put us closer to the B&B, but unluckily for us, I had no idea where we were. So we ended up walking towards the bus station (and away from the B&B) for a few minutes. Once I finally figured out where we were, we turned around and headed in the right direction.
The B&B was quite nice and had a rustic feel to it. Charming would be a good way to describe it;

Tik Tau. In Riga, we saw a sign that said Chikko Chicken and one that said Bik Bok. They all remind me of Panga Pank in Saaremaa, and all sound dirty to me. charming is also a good way to describe the attractive B&B receptionist. I guess Klaipeda has something in common with Toledo!
Off to the TI to do some planning for our time in Klaipeda. My headache was worsening. I considered using the corkscrew on my Swiss Army knife to drill a hole in my temple to relieve the pressure. I was in a crappy mood for most of the day.
We ferried over to the Curonian Split and hopped on a bus for the dunes of Nida. On the bus -
Mary-ism #13: "Bored-cast". I'm guessing she meant "broadcast". We laughed. I felt a little bit better.
After the dunes, we hit the Witches' Hill. Very cool park with neat wooden sculptures. Getting around the Curonian split is a bit of pain without a car - buses are infrequent. Having time to kill before catching a bus back to the ferry, we had a quick snack and relaxed at a café.
The Scissor Sisters' "I don't feel like dancing" was playing. Memories of last summer ... I remembered the first time I saw the video and how I laughed at how cheesy they were intentionally trying to a2
Snoras - kind of reminds me of Mary, the Snore Ass! be.
The entire island seemed to be pitch black by the time we boarded our bus back to the ferry. Because we couldn't see where we were going, I felt uneasy - could we have gotten on the wrong bus? But no worries, we made it safely back to the ferry. The ticket office was closed, so we just wandered on board and got a free ride back to Klaipeda.
Dinner was at Peda, a funky little restaurant. There was lots of tongue on the menu ... mmm. Dinner was accompanied by Svyturys, a Lithuanian brew. Not bad, but not cider! There were a few excited basketball fans in the place, watching their national team play. I guess Lithuanians are pretty passionate about the sport - they were understandably quite happy that their team won.
And finally ... after four long days ... my headache was gone! I'm glad that it wasn't a massive brain infection, like I suspected that it might have been. We paid our bill (only 8 Euros for our meal, including drinks and tip!) and walked back to the B&B. There are some unbelievable acoustics in the room - hopefully Mary's snoring won't be

Pissy Pat Moment #1: It took awhile, but the Pissy Pat persona finally emerged today. The internet at the TI was INCREDIBLY slow. I was getting annoyed.
Pissy Pat Moment #2: There was a pet bird at the TI that made the most vile, shrill noises you could imagine and wouldn't stop. I was getting VERY annoyed. I wanted to snap its neck.
Pissy Pat Moment #3: Turns out that the TI offered no tours to the Soviet missile base. There was a good chance that we would miss out completely. I was EXTREMELY ANNOYED.
Pissy Pat Moment #4: It began to rain as we walked to the ferry to the Curonian Split. I was getting soaked and PISSED OFF.
Pissy Pat Moment #5: There was no decent signage indicating where the ferry dock was. We wandered and wandered, and couldn't find it. I was SOAKED AND REALLY PISSED OFF.
Pissy Pat Moment #6: Mary pointed out a spot that could've been it, but I remarked that there was no way that was the right spot. Turns out it was correct and we missed the boat. I was EXTREMELY PISSED OFF at myself.
Pissy Pat Moment #7: While waiting for the next ferry, we ate a veggie-filled kebab and I cooled off slightly. A crappy kebab, but we needed some food. Mary commented that she knew I was pissed off and that she would just be quiet and stay out of my way. Smart girl ... though I wasn't mad at her, it's best that I'm left alone when I have these moods.
Pissy Pat Moment #8: I cooled off a little more on the ferry - literally, and figuratively. It was raining hard.
Pissy Pat Moment #9: On the bus from the port to Nida, we ate some chocolate (Kinder Bueno). I felt better. Pissy Pat went back home. too bad tonight!
