Aleksoto tiltas
View of Aleksoto tiltas (bridge) over the Nemumas River I finished work at 11pm on the 26 Aug, got home around 1130pm took a shower and I find my housemate Allan watching TV saying he cannot sleep. I had cooked some mushrooms the previous day so I finished the remainder with some bread and finished the yogurt that was remaining too. It amazes me how lazy the people in my house are. The bin was full and overflowing the previous day; but somehow people have managed to shove more stuff into it despite it full. I put a new garbage bag had a chat with Allan and went back to my room to finish the rest of my packing. Charged my phone and the camera battery and tried to sleep. The time was 1am and I have to wake up at 0145am so that i can shower again ;-) I think its a real Sri Lankan habit to shower soo many times. However kept remembering so many bits and pieces that I couldn't sleep. Finally got dressed around 2am and got to the bus stop at 0215am to catch the 111 bus passing nearby my house to the Heathrow Airport Central bus station. There was hardly anyone in the bus
Butterfly
Butterly fly cut out from Flowers by the side of the Aleksoto Funicular and got to Heathrow at 245am. I sat and waited till 0310am at which point the National Express lady called for the passengers to Stansted.
I slept all the way to Stansted; the bus got there at 0445am. Since I hold a Sri Lankan passport I could not check-in online; only European passports are allowed. I spoke to my grand father, mother and sister and boarded a yet another Ryan Air 737-800 at about 615am. Here i am writing this while in the plane and there is an announcement that we are about to land.
Its amazing how at every border I face some problem. This time the immigration lady says that she cannot find the 3 letter code for Luxembourg in her computer so she had to call her supervisor who had a look at the visa again and then asked her to write the full country name Luxembourg than looking for a 3 letter code. This is because my Schengen visa was issued by the Luxembourg embassy. The lady said the system is an old system and the 3 letter code was not there. Guaranteed all the time the immigration would take the longest time with

Bottom of Aleksoto Funicular me.
I didnt check-in any luggage so i just walked past the baggage belts and Justina (J) was waiting for me outside.
Went to J's place and put my stuff there. She had made a vegetable soup for me and also had peaches. We went for a walk around the city; took a bus to a hill that has a big butterfly cutout with flowers. There is also a view of the city from there as well as a few churches and the bridge that couples hang a padlock with their names and date of marriage engraved.
Afterwards we walked some more in the city; I had some food and J had carrot juice. J does not eat much she eats a lot of fruit and has essentially one meal a day before 7pm. We got home at about 6pm, J made some really nice pancakes with curd inside and we had it with yogurt. I added some sugar into mine. We chatted for awhile checked email and slept.
