Tasty Doner
Bought from a shop near my work. I need to go back again, hopefully when they have pomfritz available. What's a German doner without pomfritz? Tasty, but sad. Sometime around the two week mark, I stopped feeling like I was here on vacation and I started feeling like I was living here.
I've discovered where they have convenience food in my favorite grocery store. I bought frozen chicken schnitzel and broccoli dumplings! I can now also cook a variety of meals, my favorite being a sort of stir fry with Bosnian sausage and red cabbage - I don't have a wok but I kind of stir fry in a regular pan. People from work have taken me to several nice and interesting restaurants. I had a sort of flaky spinach pie at one that I have got to have again. At another restaurant I had a very nice stuffed chicken breast and avocado and mozzarella salad; as good as any nice restaurant in the United States and much cheaper! I was also taken to a restaurant that has salads! Since I haven't seen salad greens for sale yet, that's where I'm going to have to get my salad fix in.
The best thing that I'm doing is working, but I'm not really able to talk about it. All I can say is that it's interesting and I
Statue of Nene Teresa
I don't remember where I took this. Probably in Nene Teresa square. Felt very peaceful. really enjoy it!
I've gone shopping many time, often during my lunch break but also on Saturdays. I haven't bought a lot of things yet, I'm just sort of getting the lay of the land. I did get a pair of cute flower earrings, but they're not really work appropriate so I haven't worn them yet.
On the day before Kosovo's independence day, I went to a party to celebrate #InstaKosovo. A lot of people from work were there, and I met a lot of nice people. I also learned how to do the "three cheek kiss" that I've seen people do. I'm not a natural at it yet, but I'll work on it.
Kosovo's independence day was a day long party! I think a lot of people will still partying from the night before. The famous "New Born" sign was repainted, as it is every year, and this time it was painted with contributions from the public. I thought about painting on it, but I didn't do it before it was over.
The weather is great! Very warm, though it's cloudy today.
The hardest thing is not having my cat, Asura, here with me.
Coffee - I am Special
Bought this on Valentine's Day at a smokey little cafe (everyone but me was smoking) near my apartment. I liked the little chocolate reminding me that my coffee at least thinks I'm special. If I'm going to move here after I graduate, I need to figure out how to get her over here. The problem is that she really hates moving even within the United States. I have no idea how she'd handle the flight. I also miss my family, but if my sister Becky gets an internship in Germany this summer like I expect her to, it should be pretty easy for us to visit each other.
Anyway. that's it for now. I hope to do more fun things over the weekends that I can post about, but as it is I've gotten into a routine on weekdays.

I wish I could be there to enjoy a coffee, lunch, and a long walk in the snow free weather.
