The Colourful Island

Mid afternoon we arrived in Burano. This island is much quieter than Murano as it's further away from Venice. It is well known for its intricate lace work done by the local women. The houses here are also very colourful and bright.

We walked around and enjoyed having canals all to ourselves and not missing the large groups of tourists that there are back in Venice.

We then caught the vaporetto back to St Marks Square to spend the evening in the area.
