rived in verona from vienna yesterday. Flight was 105 so previous day I had decided to stay at an airport hotel for ease of travel in the morning...one gets sick of carrying 37kgs around all the time. It was 3 star next to exit 19 off a4 to the south of vienna. 2 orienteerers in the car had managed to get lost twice getting ther from Freistadt..the driver who lived south of vienna and kindly offered me lift from F missed a mway junction about 40mins out as we were taliking 2 much.So taht involved 20mins detour back to mway. Then I was navigating and we knew we were after Fischemend exit 19...we both saw exit 13 and were chatting away when 19 went past......so that involved another 10mins on mwat to exit 32 and a doubleback..what happened to sequential exits i dont know..they go 13/19/32.

Good thunderstorm about 10pm..got free shuttle 10mins away ti airport at 7,30, checked in okay..albeit paying 20euros extra for bike for this sector of trip. Next sector is 80E but I knew that anyway. Good flight on 48 seater Saab type plane..not much to see as it was cloudy until we swept over croatia and across sea to vorona..over venice Arribed at hotel about 1230..got taxi in checked in okay and got insts to busstop..thru garden and look for yellow pole...same insts for another guy..he went one way and i went the other but I won so went to find him 500m up road..he wa sfrom germany and on conf. Figured out which side of road to stand..not part of our insts. Bus dropped us into center of verona..also talked briefly with 2 nepalese..they ddint mention Ed...but we wnet our separate ways. Had lunch at 1430 as bus was late..must have been finsihing lunch which in italy sees shops shut from 1230-1530.

Wndered around till 1750 bus back..lovely old town..with one roman bridge/housing area still there and part of arena which is again used for concerts in summer.

Got back to hotel and chatted with Leif from Norway and a guy from Nigeria..govt ther still owns all land and they are figuring out how to perhaps give it back to lessees ..who may not be former owners who want it. he lectures at uni.

Dinner was smorgasboard but there was confusin as to if it was in cost or not so not all delegates attended it seems,
