then we passed through the alps into northern italy. we saw where andrea
bocelli lives. we also passed through verona, the setting of many
spakespearian plays. funny thing is, shakespeare never came to verona! so
we can say that we're more cultured than he is.

then we took the ferry to the island of venice. the weather was perfect!
similar to a sunny day in teh bay area. the surrounding city was so
amazing... cathedrals, town halls, museums, etc all on an island
surrounded by still waters. fresh...

we went on a gondola ride... i know, i know...touristy, but it was fun!
all of the former streets in venice are now canals. we even saw a boat
that was fixed up! a bunch of italian gansters had put racing stripes on
thier boat a sound system! they were bumpin "hit em up" by tupac. IM NOT
JOKING! it was hilarious.

then we strolled around st. marks square... the doges palace, st. mark
cathedral (all done in mosaic, tons of stones depiciting biblical
images...no paint!), and the campenile. the campenile in berkeley is an
exact replica of the one here. it was a moment for us golden bears.... we
went to the top and the bells rang and almost made us deaf. but the
panaromic view of venice was breath taking.

finally, we wnet to the accadamia art museum. tons of awesome art from
15th-17th centuries... mostly biblical images. it was interesting and
spiritual.

well thats all for now. the original email was more detailed... sorry.
our trip is now about halfway done. still going to:

rome, florence, lucerne, and paris.... canàt wait. weàre having a blast!

thanks for your emails again. look forward to tlaking to you soon.

grazie,
A & T
