Woo Hoo!Woo Hoo!Woo Hoo!

Wow, I am at the airport. It's finally time to do this.
What a pain in the wazoo. I spent the morning trying to find a new memory card for the camera, spent another 40 euros on card, only to have the same problem on the computer. That meant another couple of hours looking for a computer store, which was not able to help. Heck, it's only money, so I just bought a new camera. Success!! I just had this fear of taking thousands of pictures, getting home and finding out that I couldn't develop them. Not gonna happen. I hope you enjoy the pictures that I select. Those of you who know me well know that for each picture there are several others that I didn't put on here. Lots and lots of self portraits in front of various sights.

I am also getting along well with the new language I developed. I call it Spitalianish. It combines Spanish, Italian, English and lots of hand gestures. If I can't remember a word in Italian, I just use Spanish. Hey, it has worked well so far.

Ok, I need to head out and take a ride around the town on the water bus. Stay tuned for more and more pictures and

This is the only way to arrive in Venice. A private water taxi ride that let me out only steps from my hotel

I was walking around and took this from a random bridge I was on. To me it captures the feel of Venice.

This was taken from the street across from the hotel. I can't imagine a better place to stay.

I woke up around 1AM my first night, so went out walking in the cool, still night. It was such a peaceful scene with only a couple of other people on the streets.

Did you know that the Europpean Union tried to come up with a "Euro language" that mixed French, German, Italian and spanish? Not too far from your new language! I can just picture you gesturing and miming things...lolI think as long as you smile a lot , people will eventually understand.. or not but that's the beauty of travelling! What a pretty picture of the view from the bridge...
