Just off the bus and haven't got a clue where the farm is......Absolutely fantastic trip. Didn't know a word of Italian and decided we would use the public transport system! Our accommodation was in a working farm house in a little village called Dro. I forgot to bring directions to the farm and also forgot the name of the place! Luckily the village only had about 200 people living there, so after some wandering and a couple of failed attempts to talk with the locals we managed to spot the house - cries of that's got to be the place, it looks the same as the one on the internet were shouted and I'm sure the locals thought we were mad. Did some mountain biking although we spent as much time carrying our bikes up the mountain as we did riding. Discovered a sculpture park in the middle of nowhere while we were doing a short walk as Rod calls it - 9hrs of scrambling up and down the sides of mountains is not a short walk! Anyway the sculpture park was bizzare. At first we kept spotting little figures of buddha along the path then egyptian carvings in the rocks. The farmhouse at Dro with concrete, swords and the mathematical formula for pi depicted by boobs! Talk about weird! However the location was great and the food even better. We went at the best time of the year. The tourist season had just ended, the weather was still warm and they were harvesting all the kiwi fruit and apples (which we gorged ourselves on everyday). We were the only people in the farm house and our views from our hotel in Malcesine were right over the lake. The people were very friendly although with the language barrier its hard to tell if they were smiling and laughing with us or at us (probably the latter!).
