Canteenas are storage spaces built in to the side of the hill. Each family has one - typically rented. Used to store wine, vegetables and meats - they are kinda like a giant fridge/pantry.

The deli at Pitigliano prepare all of their own dried meats and are specialist in Cinghiale.

Although we asked for small pizzas ..... perhaps they only do one size. They were terrific pizzas, nice and thin with a real crunch. Dinner at Rosana's Bar with cousing Sauro.

At the local art exhibition this freaky clown was so life-like we had to touch it to make sure it wasn't one of those human statues you see in malls.
