Well we finally arrived in Florence - a busy & beautiful city! We started our time there with a walking tour of the city. We visited the Duomo & Baptistry which were both spectacular! We then finished the evening with the Accademia where we saw Michelangelo's The David! We also saw many other sculptures from him and many other famous artists! We had dinner in the adorable Trattoria Zaza- which is some of the best food yet! Pesto, gelato & focaccia bread are all native to this area. And of course, great Italian wine! Our next day we toured the Uffizi Gallery where the most important Italian paintings are kept. We finished the evening at In Tavolo, an Italian cooking school. The chef taught all of us- kids too- how to make our own meal! Chicken with rosemary, roasted peppers & onions, mushroom pasta, bruschetta & tiramisu. It was so much fun! Then we went down below to their brick wine cellar & enjoyed our meal with a local red wine! Finally we met back at our hotel for champagne on the rooftop since our tour was over! We said our goodbyes & have many new friends from all over the country! Ciao! Last stop: ROME & Vatican City! See ya soon!
