01 Fenicular track
The fenicular track and the new town of Certaldo. Geo: 43.2158, 11.7963
Had a deserved sleep in this morning. At 11 Charlotte and I got dropped off in town. We walked to the ticket office and bought a return ticket for the funicular. The funicular goes from the piazza to the top of the hill where the old medieval town of Certaldo is. The ride was short, but saved our legs. The old town of Certaldo is surrounding by a city wall. From up here we had a great view of the surrounding hills and farms. We walked through the old town and came to the Pretorio Palace. In the palace there is a prison, one for men and one for women. It is a small palace. In some of the rooms the walls are decorated with frescoes. We caught the funicular back into the new part of town and went to the supermarket.
Then walked the 20 minute walk back to the hostel. I cooked some pasta for lunch. Decided to turn on the TV and hoped for something in English. With the pay TV remote I was able to change the language- no dubbing! Spent some of the afternoon watching TV. I then moved outside and sat in the

After dinner I got comfy in the huge beanbag, drank wine and watched new episodes of Desperate Housewives!! It was very exciting.
