Spent 3 nights in Tempio Pausania at the Pausania Inn. The photos didn't come out the best as it was often quite overcast. But I did get a good one of my close friend Mr Horse.... read more

I was supposed to be going with Marie-Car to Sardinia but unfortunately she wasn't well and after a lot of debating, decided I should go! As soon as I landed at the airport, I felt a bit odd being on my own, not travelling alone before, especially a place I knew nothing about apart from it being beautiful. It took a while to figure out which bus I was getting into town because everything was in Italian! No English guides, so it was me asking a lot of people for directions! I luckily found a guy standing at a bus stop with a guide book in his hand. He to was clueless, but then Zak (from New Zealand) came along who could speak and understand a little Italian and it went good from there!!! I found ... read more

This is the archeological site of Nora in southern Sardegna. From the photo is just looks like a pile of rocks, but I can assure you that it is a very interesting site and worth a visit. Indead southern Sardegna (although not as popular with the stars as northern Sardegna) provides a wonderful holiday destination, with glorious beaches and crystal clear sea. Moreover the capital town of Sardegna, Cagliari is also a recommended day trip. The region is famous for its fish cuisine, but only George and Anna Laura really appreciated the fresh fish, as Roger doesn't eat fish, Cassandra was put off by the fish having eyes(!) and I, well I don't eat anything.... read more

Our last stop is the island of Sardinia and Porto Cervo. Sardinia is an island a little larger than Corsica, but not as strategic in terms of location and therefore not as populous. It is full of hidden coves, craggy mountains, isolated villages and jet-set resorts all fit neatly into an area that can be crossed by a car in a day. Porto Cervo is the ultimate of these jet-setting resorts and is truly the home of the rich and famous. Only private yachts are allowed to dock in the port. We had to anchor in Poltu Quato and take a bus to Porto Cervo. Furthermore, the bus is not even allowed to stop in the main resort area. It can only drop off passengers in a parking lot reserved for the hired help. We had ... read more

This has been one of the most amazing weekends, hands down. Sarah & I had an early morning flight Friday to Alghero, but the trains don't run too early, so we went to the airport Thursday night. We had to change trains (and made some friends during the hour wait at Bishops Strotford) and eventually made it to Stansted Airport at 1am. Of course we think that its going to be no big deal to find a seat & just sit around & burn 3 hours. We get there and every single seat in the waiting area is full, as is much of the floor -- there were even people that brought inflatable matresses. At 4 am the Ryanair counter opened and we dropped off our bags, got some coffee and headed out on our 6am ... read more
