We left Liechtenstein yesterday (Saturday 5th) and on our way to Milan, we made a pitstop at Lake Como.

Wow, even in the overcast weather I can see why this is the playground of the rich and famous (Including Mr Clooney). It is beautiful. The streets are mad, we went for

a drive up the side of the mountain and they are so very narrow, in some places only one car can go through at a time. So glad that Andrew was driving.

We needed to grab some lunch and some groceries, so we went to a shopping centre in Como. Wow, Andrew and I have been born in the wrong country. The supermarket here

was at least half of a bunnings store in size. It had groceries and clothes and stuff. But Andrew and I were almost speechless when we saw the deli.

The Deli area was the size of a normal Coles. It had its own Cheese section, where one person's job is to stock up/help you with cheese selections. Another section

just for the salami/cured meats section. Cooked food that you could purchase: Lasagna, Schnitzel, Vegetables, Pork Hocks, Calamari - all to take home to heat up and

eat. Oh, and the obligatory Roast Chickens like home.

There was a massive fish section, where it seemed you could order any fresh fish you wanted. It was everything you would hope/imagine an Italian Supermarket to be

like!

After we stopped ogling all the cheese/meats/fish etc, we headed out to leave and I decided to grab a drink from McDonalds. Trying to be good, I ordered in my best

Italian - Uno Grandi Coca Cola. The guy behind the counter was confused and asked what I wanted. I tried again and then he said in English, oh you want a large Coca

Cola. LOL...

Anyway, we were soon on our way to Milan. We arrived about 5ish, after battling the terrible traffic. Nothing worse than Italian drivers I tell you! Our Hotel is ok.

They have a lift is probably the best thing about it. (Trust me, after Andrew struggling carrying 25kgs bags up 3 flights of stairs in Berlin, a lift is a huge bonus!)

We had dinner at a little pizzeria down the road, which was good.

Today, we got out early and headed into Milan. We visited the Duomo, beautiful cathedral which is huge. Attention to detail is second to none here. Marble floor and

beautiful stained glass windows. While we were there they were having a Sunday Service. It was special being there while the service was on.

As soon as we walked out the door, the rain started. I think it is following us! It was quite heavy, so we decided it might be best to head undercover and look through

shops etc. We came across a Taxi and Porsche Driver having full on fist fight. Not sure what it was all about, but nothing would surprise me here. It is true about the

angry Italians, they are angry drivers, angry walkers, just plain angry 😊.

We had a gelato that we will not forgot in a hurry, Gelato here is so much better than home. Pistaccio and Chestnut flavour, (Yes mum, chestnut flavoured), it was yum!

On every street corner, there are guys who set up there little stands selling hot roasted chestnuts. Takes all the hard work out of having to cut them and roast them!

We were pretty much rained out, so decided to head back to our hotel and have a quiet afternoon, catching up on the blog, writing hotel reviews (some nice, some not so

nice) and just relaxing.

We are heading into Florence and Rome over the next few days, so I think it will be pretty hectic. But while complaining, am loving it!!!!

Take care guys...
