Well, I arrived in Italy, finally!!! Getting to the Edinburgh Airport, and the flight from Edinburgh to Dublin, was quite easy and everything went fine. However, Dublin airport was a huge mess this time around. We were in a holding pattern for about 15 minutes outside of Dublin, and when we landed there were hardly any planes at the RyanAir terminals. Then, even after getting my luggage and going through customs, RyanAir still hadn't started ticket booth for the Rome flight, so I had to wait for 45 minutes.
After getting my ticket, I went through the airport's very annoying security checkpoint. They had to run my backpack and camera twice because they thought they saw something resembling a can-opener or pocket knife. A) I'm not dumb enough to do that B) I didn't have one C) they were quite annoyed with the scanner guy because they still hand-searched my backpack and camera bag and guess what, found nothing! Big surprise. Obviously my camera represents a clear and present danger....
Well, if all the previous hassles weren't enough. RyanAir was backlogged in delays because of many planes being in holding patterns. RyanAir then changed the gate four different times, once placing the plane at the same gate as a flight to London. Then they finally chose a gate and called for boarding, but there was no plane. After an hour after scheduled boarding, we got on the plane and took off.
By the time I arrived in Rome, I realized i'd probably be late for my check-in at the hostel. However they really didn't care. I'm exhausted and off for bed!
