Drove the car back from GAIOLE to FLORENCE Airport, and taxi to the train station.
Fast train to ROME, up to 250 km/h at times.
Found our way to our hotel easily this time, checked in and had a rest.
Went for a walk down VIA NAZIONALE and found PIAZZA VENEZZIA at the end.
Dinner at the hotel, two guys playing guitars and singing = fun.

Up early and off to explore the ROMAN FORUM, a huge walk around this amazing site.
Amsterdam chips for lunch on the way home.
Derek went down with the same symptoms that Kate had a couple of days ago, a writeoff for the next 24 hours.
Room service for dinner and an early night.

Washing day at the laundromat, and an aborted attempt to post a parcel home.
Dinner at a local pizza restaurant and an early night.

Very limited wifi here, so will upload photos from next location...

You guys! Sick in Rome. Its a wonder just the excitement didn't keep you going? Hope you get better soon any way. If you get the chance try and get to the tower on top of the Vatican. There is a lift to the roof then its a weird climb up st
airs which tilt over as you go higher in to the dome until the last ten feet is a ladder but it is a fantastic view of the city and the Popes back yard. I went there on two successive days. I just walked and walked gobsmacked for three days when I was there supposed to be resting before work. Enjoy enjoy!Gaz
