The Villa Lante consists of two separate palaces commissioned by two cardinals and designed by architect Il Vignola. More impressive than the buildings are the elaborate gardens that envelope them. Unfortunately for us the most spectacular feature of the gardens, the water, merely dribbled from the exotic fountains.
