In BertinoroIn BertinoroIn Bertinoro

In Bertinoro overlooking the Adriatic Coast after climb to town.
Second night on the road and now on the east coast of Italy in the sea-side town of Milano Marittima. This is obviously a seasonal town as it is quiet at the moment but moves into full swing in the holiday period of July and August. Our room overlooks the beach with pool, spa, sauna etc for the patron’s pleasure.
Our ride today started at sea level and climbed to the town of Bertinoro where we saw the final 10K of the Giro. The town overlooks a wide stretch of Italian countryside with a lot of farms and properties stretching to the sea. I have added photos of the view from our room in the hotel as well as views of the countryside, yours truly in the town square overlooking the country and in the local café having expresso with room-mate and Steve Cunningham. We covered about 90k today with a reasonable climb, involving a 17% grade as well as riding on a few kilometers of dirt road on the return to the hotel. Meal again was quite good and with a couple of glasses of local vino, this rounded off the day quite nicely.
We ride inland again tomorrow, Friday,

on our way to Rimini where we expect to see the riders race through and then back along the coast to see them finish in Cesenatico. Expect to do more climbing on the way to Rimini so this should also provide a few views and entertainment.
