We had organised for Rainbow Limos, who did our transfers, to take us on a day trip along the Amalfi Coast today. Luckily the weather was gorgeous, sunny and pleasant.

Alberico was our driver this time and he picked us up bang on time.

First of all we headed to Positano. What a lovely little town! Alberico called ahead to organise a parking spot, demonstrating the benefits of using a driver, rather than hiring a car. This was the very end of the season yet parking would have been close to impossible without Albertico's contacts. We spent an hour or so wandering up and down the steep streets, buying a couple of local trinkets, before heading back to the car.

We decided to head up to Ravello next for lunch and views and to see Amalfi on the way back to Sorrento.

Alberico gave us a couple of lunch recommendations in Ravello. As we already wanted to see the gardens of Villa Cimbrone, we decided to eat at Villa Maria along the way. What a great decision that was! We were seated at a table overlooking the gardens, hills and the ocean and coast line, totally spectacular, as was the

food. We ate local fish with lemon and breadcrumbs, served with broccoli and garlic oil and chili and rosemary potatoes. All washed down with a glass of local white wine. Delicious.

Once we left Ravello, Alberico drove us up to the tiny town of Scala to see the amazing views back down to Ravello and the sea. Such stunning scenery on this coast.

Finally we returned to the town of Amalfi. Again, we strolled around the shopping area and down to the beach, followed by a look inside the Duomo of Amalfi. We ended our visit having a glass of wine in the main square and doing a spot of people watching.

Finally it was time to return to Sorrento after the most amazing day. We stopped off at a local ceramics factory on the way home where we purchased a beautiful olive oil decanter as yet another souvenir before returning to Bellevue Syrene for sunset drinks.

We ate at a small local restaurant tonight, Blu Water. G had a pizza and I had chicken with garlic and rosemary and we shared some local white wine and a dessert of tiramisu.
