LA TAGLIATA
27.6.2013 Docked in Naples this morning at 7.00a.m. Had arranged from home for our driver to pick 4 of us up from the port and take us down the Sorrento and Amalfi Coast. 8.00a.m. Salvatore arrived with his Mercedes and off we went - I think we died and went to heaven. First stop was Pompei - there as the gates opened at 8.30 and spent a couple of hours there, it is unbelievable this city - could have spent all day!! but we had a lot of ground we wanted to cover - spectacular scenery all the way - had an hour or so walking around Sorrento and then onto Positano for lunch - thanks to Lara and her wonderful recommendation of La Tagliata perched high up in the cliffs overlooking Positano - we had an amazing lunch - I think we had 8 plates of food on our table at one time - they just kept coming out. We just didn't want to leave this place the views were out of this world - and the cost for lunch was $37.50 a head two bottles of wine and bottles of water - a family run business and grow nearly

everything in their garden or farm- then further around the Amalfi Coast to Amalfi - the scenery was just gorgeous - just like all the postcards you see of this area - going through all the little villages with all the houses just stuck on the edge of cliffs and mountain sides - then over the mountains to the freeway back to Naples and a short tour of the city - back to ship at 6.00p.m. All in all a great day and our travel buddies couldn't thank us enough for organising the day. Jim got your messages - all good and thanks for the news, and annie yes John is so pleased, we can't have the "Ditch the Bitch" party on the 17th Sept - she's gone!!!

Love all your blogs
I always look forward to reading about your travels Gloria. Was unsure about replying, due to privacy/email stuff. Anyway, I think Steve wrote to you from Wonboyn last week. It poured with rain there for 6 days! I was not happy. We also loved the Amalfi and your great pics brought back lots of memories. Sounds like you are both having a ball. Cheers, Lyn W
