Buildings in Perugia
We knew we had to make kilometres to get to the next destination. We made sure we had fuel for that is not everywhere available. To fuel the car is also a story. There are two fuel prices that have a difference of 20 euro cents. On arriving at a station you have to be quick otherwise they have the nozzle in their hands and fuel your car. When you quick enough you are there before them and fuel your own car will make it 20 euro cents per litre cheaper. You learn quickly I can tell you. We reached Cosenza in the afternoon but had to find a place to sleep. Not very hard. We found one and was not expensive even included parking. Very important in Italy. now for a place to eat, there was not much around and eating pizza became boring. Down the road we found a nice little place the only one. Sitting down it showed there was only fish, and we are not keen on that. The chef came out who spoke English. He could not talk us into eating fish so he made a pasta dish , that was very nice. Next day we carried on towards Casino. Also for an overnight stay. We were hoping going north for some relieve in the weather but the hot days kept coming. Our next destination was Perugia. there we would stay a couple of days. It was a nice place. A sort of Music place where people studied music and stayed there at night. Had a nice room and internet so we could check the phones. Walking around we discovered a student place where you could eat for 9 Euro as much as you like, drinks included. Next day we went with the bus to town for it is a big climb to go by foot. Must tell Perugia is a lovely little place. Very touristic. Lots of people around. Italy has one more problem. They have siesta time. Around 1 p.m. everything closes. Than you see the tourist walking around not knowing what to do. Churches, shops, all those things where tourist go are closed. Absolutely stupid. Here and there is a clever one that is open and does good business. We spend the day in town and went back by bus. The driver was so good to tell us where to get of. We ate at the same place, good food for cheap price. Slowly we work our way to the top of Italy. Our next stop is Bologna, we will see you there.
