By the sea After three consecutive stays in large cities (Copenhagen, Milan and Rome) it was nice to get back to a seaside city (OK, Copenhagen is by the sea but we didn't see much of it). Trani is also a lot smaller at only about 50,000. It is also the site of my first “epic failure” of “Google Maps”. It's not that obvious but this planter/bike rack is on wheels so it can be moved around to where it is needed.

We found this swimming pool on the shore as we were walking along the sea front on our way to the monastery on the point in the background of the picture.

There were renovation signs all over this former monastery. It would be a fantastic location for a hotel or conference centre. Pretty good one for a monastery too.

Check out the guy at the top of the ladder. Notice the wheels on the bottom of the ladder. And the guy being ballast to keep it from moving. What would Work Safe BC have to say about this?

At one point he got up to get a cigarette. So much for holding the fort for his buddy.

No safety harness. No net. But he does manage to keep his cigarette going. Great entertainment while we were eating breakfast,
