Geo: 52.2733, -6.38662Pas de Grande-Bretagne pour leretour… On dépose la voiture à Rosslare Europort, de là, un bateau d'unecompagnie irlandaise, au propriétaire chypriote et battant pavillon des Bahamasnous amènera gentiment en Bretagne (même si elle est plus petite que l'autre,elle n'a pas eu la prétention de s'adjoindre un adjectif dimensionnel. Les habitants,eux, perdent d'ailleurs cet adjectif pour s'appelle Bretons pour les moinsnombreux et Britanniques pour les autre). C'est donc confortablement installé àbord de l'Oscar Wilde que nous quittons la verte Irlande pour la tricoloreFrance. Le ciel serein et le cap SSE augurent d'un chouette couché de soleil àtribord. 1. From Cherbourg to Rosslare To start with, I had to drive from my place in the middle of France to Cherbourg where I was going to take the ferry to Rosslare in the south east of Ireland. Leaving Chateauroux at 9am I arrived at the car ferry terminal in Cherbourg at 5:30pm and took my place in the queue for embarkment as the 5th car there. There was plenty of time before embarkment. My ticket one way for myself and my car cost €159. A cabin would have been an extra €60 so I declined. Waiting for embarkment at 9pm, either inside the terminal or in my car, was not much fun. Geo: 52.2733, -6.38662Arrive Rosslare 6.15am, time for brekker before 7.40am train to Dublin which unfortunately was a bloody 'arrow' not so good for a 3 hour trip but I slept through the worse of it and then finished a book I started at 10pm the night before which I don't think I ever did before! So we are still on the no taxi buzz (see Riga) so we got the Luas (tram to non Dubs) home!Our Dream to go India for 2 months = Tick.Hunt Wedding in Oz = Tick.South Pacific kick back week = Tick. Shanghai to Dublin by land and sea = Tick Tick Tick.So feeling pretty happy, just have operation sorting and packing up the house now :(... read more
