Here are some picture from the Waterford Medieval Museum that Eva, Sarah Ro, Anna, and myself went to today. The guided tour really gave a great perspective into how life was in Waterford and the various conflicts that happened during that time to do with the city. We also stopped by the Waterford Crystal retail store and looked on in envy at all of the beautiful crystal. Of course after our tour we made a trip to Blackfriars because no trip is complete to the city centre without a stop at Blackfriars. Today I had the Earl Grey Tea and like everything else, it was delicious. This past weekend a small group of us, 3 Americans and 3 Germans, Anna, Sarah, Eva, Sarah Ro, Chrissi and myself went to Cork and Kinsale. Our travels started in Friday when we caught the bus to Cork in the morning. Once we got to Cork, about a 2 hour bus ride, we walked to the hostel we were staying in so we could get rid of our bags. This was my first hostel experience and I have to say, it was not that bad, granted us 6 had our own room with a bathroom. After checking in, we went and grabbed a coffee before catching another bus out to Blarney Castle. So I've been sitting here thinking of what I should write for my first blog post. I want something epic, and inspiring, and memorable. But I got nothing. It's just me sitting at my computer, watching the occasional Netflix film or TV show, occasionally glancing at the tab for a blog. And thinking. So should I even be writing something if I got nothing to say? But you see, everyone's got something to say. Everyone has a voice to be heard, a smile to be seen, and a step to take. I guess you could say this is my travel blog. Since November 2013, I've been diagnosed with the travel bug. It's sort of like an addiction, but it's not bad. It's a good thing. Today was a beautiful day in Waterford. It was a nice crisp 40 degrees and the sun was shining all day. Since all classes were cancelled at the University today because of board meetings, professors sit around and talk about last term's exams, we took the opportunity to spend some time around the city centre and quay (que). Some people in the group did some shopping and I did some exploring. I went into the oldest cathedral in Waterford called Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity. It was a unique experience. The cathedral sits right in the middle of the city centre, which is the main shopping district. The inside struck me at how simple it was. Yesterday a few of us international students took the bus out to the little coastal town of Tramore. It was a beautiful town that sat right on the edge of the sea. The trip started out with some adventure as we had to chase the bus down because we were a bit late. Once we caught the bus, thanks to Chris my roommate, we were on our way to Tramore. It was a short little trip by bus, about 25 minutes. As we came over the hill into town the few of the sea was beautiful.
