Everything normal today; argued like crazy as we negotiated our way out of Galway city morning peak hour traffic before we settled down into sedate country driving before arriving at the very small village of Kiltormer, to visit an ex colleague's primary school, which she last attended in 1999, but is still held in high esteem by the staff who are still present. Wonderful, welcoming teachers. Jane and I were welcomed with open arms and invited to speak to the whole school of 33 students ranging from year 1 to 6. Questions came flying from the youngsters, particularly about Australia's animals. I taught them Glenn Capelli's, "I Have a Magic Brain", which they videoed and now will make it their own. Geo: 52.5643, -8.79035We had our first and only breakfast at Garnish House. It was delicious and offered a huge amount of food for ten euro per person. Philip even had Baileys cream on his porridge, and I had eggs en cocotte with cheddar topping which was one baked egg covered with melted Irish cheddar and warm Irish cream served in a small baking dish. It's too bad and it's a good thing that we did not try their breakfast earlier. We would have wanted it every day, and it would have been too much food on top of everything else we have been eating. However, at times he is hard to understand due to his Welsh accent, and this was one of them. He mentioned something about Champaign something about a park and picnic and something about grabbing a sandwich. The bus pulled into a Tesco (like Costco) parking lot just on the outskirts of Limerick. When everyone began to get off the bus, I asked one of them just what was going on. Apparently we need to go inside, buy a packaged sandwich or food, and then when we get to Adare, we are going to sit in the park and eat the food and then toast those who have traveled with Insight ... read more
