Flights booked!!

So flights all booked so its definetly happening now!!! SCARY!! Spent a while looking for flights and ended up getting the best deal on www.edreams.com ! The cheapest flights were €540 with Air Asia from London heathrow ( flights to london €25 with Ryan air to stansted or €50 with Aer lingus to heathrow) but i have read only OK reports about them so we ended up paying €650 each to go with Singapore airlines leaving directly from Dublin! They seem much friendlier and comfortable from what iv read on the net but only time will tell i guess. Travel time ----27 and a half hours!! Sounds horrible. 2 stopovers, 1 in london for 3 hours and Singapore for 2 hours!
I can see us being fit to kill each other when we arrive and wanting to either scream, sleep or run into the sea and drown!! But who knows...it could be an amazing flight.....(who am i kidding )!!!

Also after booking Oz intro. It costs €600 for the week and your visa etc ( see all at www.ozintro.com ) Because the conversion rate from euro to sterling is so good in our favour we are paying in sterling £469, works out at about €550! The extra €50 will make it seem like or flights only cost 600!!

Looking at travel insurance now and,,,,,, kinda thinking of not getting it!!! We have our own personal medical insurance here in Ireland with VHI and you can get multi trip insurance ( lasts for about 6 months 1 one country i think ) as we are planning on going to thailand we might do that after say 5 months and when we re enter Australia it should be re newed!! As for all the other things that are include ( loss of bags etc ) is there a need when your back packing??? I cant see a need. The most valuable thing i will be carrying is an i pod and i have 3 so i think if i lost it ( yes i would be gutted )but.... i have others!! I just cant see the value in it! As for flight delays- we're in no rush, cancelations- trust me if a flight gets canceled they will be putting us on another flight at some stage!

Loss of passport- if its urgent there are embassies and if that doesnt work we can get one made up in ireland and posted out ( going to fill up a form and get photos taken before we go) Just n case!!

So thats that.... next thing to do is pack i guess!! Leaving on the 23rd of October so iv till then to save like mad!

Will post any more up dates that come up- next one should be what we're actually bringing!!
