Lunch!Lunch!Lunch!

We stopped in Kilkenny for lunch- I had pan fried lemon sole with hollaindaise sauce on mashed potatoes.

So, today we had a long drive from Cork to Kilkenny to Dublin. Chris and I slept most of the drive. Kilkenny was our lunch stop. Since we'd already been there, we didn't bother with pictures of the town. We ate at the same place for lunch as last time, the Marble Bar. I had pan fried lemon sole with hollandaise sauce and Chris had a bacon cheeseburger. We were both so tired that day. All the running around and drinking was catching up with us.

The afternoon when we got back to Dublin, our last tourist stop was the Guinness Storehouse. It's the Disneyland version of brewery tours. It's very over the top with all its exhibits explaining everything of the making of Guinness to the advertising (which is actually the most fascinating part- see the Guinness is Good picture)

After that we said goodbye for the meanwhile to everyone on the tour. A group of us were planning on meeting up the next day for St. Paddy's Day anyway, so it wasn't a tearful group hug fest or anything, lol.

Chris and I grabbed dinner at a Vegetarian place called Govinda's. I

ate here last time I was in Dublin and really liked it. You pay by the size of your plate, and just heap some of everything on it. Pretty tasty, cheap and filling. After that we went back to the hostel. Turns out Chris and I are in two separate dorm rooms. We booked 9 months ahead of time, and STILL didn't get two beds in the same room (that's some indication on how crowded Dublin is right now). We're on the same hall, though. It's just a little more tricky to coordinate (it's not like we have phones to text each other). I ended up reading some of Lord of the Rings, and Chris wandered around the common room (unbeknownst to me). I accidentally passed out really early that night while reading and slept a good 11 hours. Probably a good idea considering St. Paddy's was the next day and that was going to require A LOT of energy.

This was by far the most brilliant advertising scheme. Doctors for the longest time actually PRESCRIBED Guinness. I'm not joking. They give it to women just after childbirth or people who just lost a loved one. They felt it put them into better spirits and increased their appetites. lmao. NICE

Madness in the Gravity Bar. It's the bar at the very top of the factory that has 360 degree views of Dublin. Unlike popular myth, it does NOT rotate like the Space Needle.
