Gardens at the Irish Presidents HouseGardens at the Irish Presidents HouseGardens at the Irish Presidents House

After tea and a short discussion about American politics, the Irish President invited us to enjoy his garden. Since Kathy is a master gardener, she gave him some much needed gardening advice.
Today we head back to Dublin to a AirBnB in Castleknock northwest of Phoenix Park. Unfortunetly we are still fighting against the bus strike. We thought that we had a work around but at the last minute we had to rely on the goodness of the Irish folks. Our host, Madeline, graciously offered to drive us to Cory in order to catch the bus to Dublin. After a bus transfer in Dublin City Center, we are off to Castleknock. Phoenix Park is about 1700 acres (about twice the size of Central Pak in NYC) full of fun and sun in sunny funny Dublin. Kathy and I are staying with Evelyn and James in a nice house about 1/4 mile from the park. For the next 2 days we are touring the Irish presidents house as well as the Guenniss estate , both of which are on the park. We must have walked about 20 miles over the next 2 day which equates to 4 Guinness for me....yaahoo! Speaking of Guinness, the Guinness fanily has done well in the last 300 yrs or so. The tour of the Guiness estate, Farmleigh, included a view of their walk-in vault, which is accessible from

I looked but couldn't find one pint of Guinness in the place until we found deBruins pub. They must have moved it all there because they had plenty.
a number of rooms in the house. Needless to say, the money had already been either moved or spent.
