Well out of hot Africa and straight into the middle of European winter!

We had a slight hiccup making our way to Dublin, we missed our connecting flight due to airport delays and so after spending the night in London and buying new tickets (a big dent in the wallet) we finally made it to the Emerald Isle. After three full on action packed weeks in SA our time in Ireland has been spent a little more chilled out.

On our first day in Dublin we went on a walking tour of the city. We learnt a lot more about Irish history and met other travellers too from our hostel. No stay in Dublin is complete without a pint of Guinness in Temple Bar, so that's what we did, as well as visit the Guiness store house for the tour. We also learned how to pour the perfect pint of Guinness and received a certificate for it too!

On Christmas Eve we packed a lunch and took a bus to a small fishing village called Howth just out of Dublin. Without knowing where we were going we made our way to the top of some very dramatic cliffs. We ended up going on a great little walk (a little muddy), good day all up.

Christmas day was not the same without family and friends, but our hostel put on a Christmas dinner which we enjoyed with a glass of port. We made friends with friends from all over including Italy, France, US and had a good time.

Happy Christmas everyone!

Missing you most right now

love A + R
