'Juuuust the three of us'
We decided last night to book another nights accommodation and do a day trip down to Blarney Castle and Cork. We figured if local tours could do it... so could we! We were up at about 8am and left for Blarney/Cork at about 9.30am.
We stopped off at a superette to buy some lunch along the way, we have taken to 'make-your-own' lunches which is quite nice.
We arrived at Blarney Castle at about 2pm and went straight in. The grounds are massive for this place. It has a castle as well as big walking tracks, gardens, caves and another house where people still live in. We walked up Blarney Castle and on each of the levels we were able to stop and read about what used to be there. There was a place called the 'Murder Hole' where there was a stone that could be losened by the guards so if an unwanted guest arrived the guard would losen the stone and you would fall 15m and iif you were seriously unwelcome they would either shoot arrows, throw stones or pour boiling liquids onto you... Kind of glad I was welcome at the castle! When we got to the top Nicole

did the kissing of the Blarney Stone to be granted with the 'gift of the gab' (Steve and I didn't really like the idea of doing that when we saw the massively greasey spot... and anyway, I already have the 'gift of the gab' and don't need anymore talking abilities
We went for a wander around the rest of the grounds. We walked through the Poison Garden and saw a lot of dangerous plants before coming across an empty cage. The sign said Cannibas followed by a laminated sheet stating that they apologise for the absence of this plant as it has been siezed by the police. We spent about 2 hours at the castle before leaving to Cork.
When we got to Cork we went for another wander and on our way I saw people carrying Penny's shopping bags that looked exactly like Primark bags so I got a tad excited! We found Pennys along our journey so we had to stop in... Nicole went a bit crazy and Steve and I got a few good bargains but are very mindful that we have got minimal weight space left at the moment!
After Cork we started to drive home

and stopped along the way at Rock of Cashel, even though we knew it would be closed because it was about 7pm. Pretty much the Rock of Cashel is a castle built on a rock.
We went to a local pubby type place for tea which was nice then continued our drive. We made it back to our hotel at midnight so it was a nice long day out.
Nothing else to report on!
